Our local area, the Portes du Mont Blanc, is a refreshing alternative to busy, overpriced ski resorts. You'll find quiet pistes and friendly resort staff, and of course the beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the Aravis range will take your breath away.
An easy 7-minute drive from the chalet brings you to Le Plan, departure point for the Torraz chairlift. At the summit, you can admire the 360º views before returning to Le Plan on a selection of blue, red and black runs, or continuing across towards Megève and Combloux.
The area is also renowned for excellent off-piste tree skiing and ski touring. Powder days see those-in-the-know travelling from as far afield as Chamonix and Annecy to enjoy fresh tracks on our north-facing slopes.

The Portes du Mont-Blanc domain sits within the larger Evasion Mont-Blanc area, totalling an impressive 440km of pistes that stretch from Megève across to Saint-Gervais and around to Les Contamines.
The pistes here are as immaculately groomed as the stylish locals who ski on them, stopping frequently at one of the many excellent on-piste cafés and restaurants, all under the watchful gaze of magnificent Mont Blanc.
To access the larger area from La Giettaz, it is possible to ski across the Portes du Mont-Blanc to Megève, and then take the shuttle bus across town. However, it's better value to travel to Megève by car and then access the Evasion area directly. This way, you make the most of the more expensive lift pass and you don't have to keep an eye on the clock to catch the connecting lifts back to La Giettaz at the end of the day!

Perhaps less well known in the UK, the Espace Diamant stretches across the Val d'Arly, with access from the villages of Flumet, Praz-sur-Arly, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Crest-Voland and Les Saisies.
Similar to the Portes du Mont-Blanc with its characterful tree-lined pistes, the area offers family-friendly skiing at a relaxed pace. Significant investment in recent years means you’ll find plenty of fast lifts, and the area is renowned for efficient snow making and storage, meaning that Les Saisies in particular is a great resort for April skiing, with pistes normally open until the 3rd week of the month.
Resort altitude: 1000m (Praz-sur-Arly, Flumet), 1200m (Notre-Dame de Bellecombe, Crest-Voland), 1600m (Les Saisies)

2017/18 Dates: 23/12/17 to 20/4/17 (Les Saisies), 13/4/17 (rest of area)
