These are the two most reliable sites for weather forecasts in our area. The chalet is at 1200m altitude, so it is useful to bear that in mind when reading the bulletins, which are normally updated around 8am each morning, with an additional evening bulletin issued during the peak season. Mountain weather can change very quickly, and we find that these sites are not only by far the most accurate but they also give an indication of how confident they are of their forecast. Please note that most weather apps and ski forecast sites automatically reproduce weather station data, which changes frequently and does not usually take into account local variations and/or altitude. For this reason, please don’t rely on them for your mountain weather forecast!

The photos on our website were taken by our good friend, and multi-award winning photographer, Richard Boll.
As well as taking amazing commercial and artistic photos, Richard is a superb skier, an excellent photography tutor and a thoroughly nice guy. He is available for private tuition in the UK or for guests at Chalet La Giettaz with an interest in Alpine, scenic or sports photography. Please contact us for more information.
We've had loads of enquiries from our guests about the beautiful papercut artwork that adorns the walls of Chalet La Giettaz, all of which is handmade by our lovely friend Yasemin Wigglesworth. Based in Stroud, Yasemin has recently launched the Cuts a Fine Figure website to showcase her splendid work.
