If you would prefer to concentrate alone on a larger piece of work, bespoke solo retreats are also available. Our tutor will work with you on a one-to-one basis and you will be able to set out exactly what you want to achieve. You can send a manuscript in advance and request close criticism or advice about the business of publishing.

After the initial meeting with the tutor you can have as many or as few consultations as you like. We would recommend a daily check-in session after breakfast; even the most inspired artists benefit from a second pair of eyes, someone to bounce ideas off or share plans for developing their work.

If there are other writers staying at the same time on their own solo retreats we may – if you wish – bring you together in the evenings for readings and to exchange ideas. Alternatively you may like to retire to your private apartment after dinner to do more writing. Once again, the choice is yours.
