Supported Cycling Weekends

Alps Cycling

We’re delighted to launch our new range of dedicated cycling weekends here at the chalet, removing all the hassle of organising the trip and allowing you to enjoy the sensational riding we have in abundance on our doorstep, with the added comfort of full minibus support throughout each day.

Our carefully selected, painstakingly tested routes showcase some of the most beautiful roads in the Savoie Mont-Blanc region, tackling an interesting and challenging choice of climbs, all surrounded by picture-postcard Alpine scenery.

The Tour de France 2016

A selection of routes closely built around the parcours of the final 3 mountain stages of the 2016 Tour, including:
- the mountain time trial on the Côte du Domancy;
- the formidable slopes of the Bisanne and Bettex ascents of Stage 19; and
- the climactic Stage 20 (also route of the Etape du Tour) which runs directly past our front door

Lake Annecy

A variety of rides in the beautiful environs of Lake Annecy, taking in several of our area’s most picturesque roads, including:
- the magnificent Semnoz climb, as featured in the 2013 Tour
- the Col de la Forclaz and its unforgettable views over the lake
- the Plateau des Glières, where double-digit gradients lead to a striking monument to the French Resistance and a spot of gravel riding

Classics of Savoie

A range of challenging routes through the bucolic Savoyard pastureland, including:
- the Col du Pré and Cormet du Roselend, with some of the best views in the whole of the French Alps
- the Col du Joly, in the shadow of Mont Blanc itself
- the Col de l’Arpettaz, a little-known but very beautiful climb

Famous Climbs of the Maurienne

Hop in our minibus for the short journey to the Maurienne valley, site of some of the most famous climbs in cycling, including:
- the Cols de la Madeleine & Grand-Cucheron, a fabulous loop starting from Albertville
- the Lacets de Montvernier and Cols de Glandon & Croix-de-Fer, heavily featured in the 2015 Tour
- the mythical Col du Galibier... no introduction required!

And of course, our favourite local climbs, the Fantastic Four of Aravis, Croix-Fry, Saisies and Colombière, each staples of the Tour and Dauphiné themselves, all feature regularly in our ride itineraries.

La Resistance 2017

La Resistance is a unique one-day mountain road and gravel cycle challenge, starting on the shores of Lake Annecy and passing very close to La Giettaz along the beautiful Route du Soif, between the Col de l'Arpettaz and the Col des Aravis.  We are delighted to be working in partnership with La Resistance to offer a comprehensive package that includes entry to the race and the evening after-party "La Guingette".  The event takes place on Saturday 16th September 2017.
