Summer Holidays at Chalet La Giettaz

A summer break at Chalet La Giettaz offers a spectacular mountain setting for a huge array of activities for you to choose from.

La Giettaz is at the heart of some of the most famous cycling terrrain in the world, with a number of organised events taking place throughout the summer.  As you would expect in the Alps, there are plenty of routes for cyclists of all levels to enjoy, including some of the Tour de France's most famous climbs or the more gentle terrain surrounding Lake Annecy.

The area also offers fabulous walking, in some of Europe's most dramatic mountain scenery.  The trails are well-maintained and signposted, and we can arrange tours with a local guide, help you work out your own itinerary or even drop you off and collect at either end of your walk.

Thrill-seekers may prefer to get involved in some of the more white-knuckle sports available in the region: mountain biking (including the second edition of the MB Race event in July), climbing, water sports and quad biking are just some of the exciting activities in the local area.

If a slower pace is more your style, how about a gentle horse ride through the hills?  Alternatively, you might simply want to relax with a picnic of fresh, local produce, bathe in natural pools or take in the spectacular 360-degree views from the top of the local chair lift or the Col des Aravis.  And if mountain views are what you're looking for, why not take a ride in a hot-air balloon?

There are 18-hole golf courses in Megève, Chamonix and Annecy, and a small 6-hole course in La Clusaz.

La Giettaz is also a great place to explore further afield, with Megève and Annecy being notable day-trip destinations.

Closer to home, the village has tennis courts, mini-golf and a children’s playground... the choice is yours and we'll be on hand to help ensure you really take advantage of a summer stay in the mountains.

Of course, our bar and spa are available at the end of each day, where you can relax, unwind and perhaps enjoy a cold drink on our terrace as you watch the sun set over the Aravis mountains... truly blissful!
